July 28, 2012 Prayer Nudge from East Africa

As Olympics 2012 begins, students at the Nairobi Baptist Centre sang the Kenyan national anthem at their annual sports day.  All the East African (1) national anthems may be played at the Olympics awards’ ceremonies WITH the exception of the anthem for the new country of South Sudan.  BUT a proud young South Sudanese, competing under the Olympic flag, says, That I will be in the Olympics means a lot not just to me, but to my country, which has gone through so much… Even if I am not going to carry or wear the flag, I will be the flag of my nation. South Sudan will be in my heart." (2)
